Tokyo Skytree x Sakura

Tokyo Skytree which was finished in February of 2012 and was opened in May of 2012.
It became a new landmark in Tokyo and in Japan and continues attracting many many visitors from both foreign countries and Japan.

And during February, there is a rare scenery that you should definetely find a chance to visit!

The spot is on the side of Tobu Skytree line, Tokyo Skytree station (東武スカイツリーライン、とうきょうスカイツリー駅).
This picture is the opposite side, Oshiage station (押上駅).

From this side, you will be able to enjoy the pretty illumination lights on the way~

Continue walking you’ll get closer and closer to Skytree, when you are this close, you’ll be surprised how enormous the Tokyo Skytree is!
The skytree’s light-up is shown all around the year, it usually starts around 17:00 (after sunset) until 24:00. The color of the light-up would change as well. You can find the coming week’s information from here.

Walk around the Skytree area, you’ll get to the other side, where you’ll see another entrance to the Tokyo Solamachi shopping and restaurant area.

If you continue walking you’ll find a bridge called Tobu bridge (東武橋, Tobu-bashi), if you go to the other side, you’ll find the fabulous view that you can only see around mid February to mid March.

This is the place where you can take photos of Sakura (cherry blossom) and Tokyo Skytree together!

There are two cherry blossom trees located across the Tobu bridge, you’ll find them in front of this Ramen place.

There would probably be a lot of people taking pictures around there so it should be easy to find~

At night time, after taking the pictures of Skytree and Sakura, you can head toward another photo spot, Zyuken bridge (十間橋, Zyuken-hashi).

If you are facing the cherry blossom trees, just head toward the right, back the direction to Oshiage station, but you can stay on the side of the cherry blossom trees and continue walking for about 10 minutes.

You’ll also see a lot of people taking photos from there 😅

From the bridge, you’ll see a perfect reflection of the Tokyo Skytree✨

The Sakura and Skytree at night looks beautiful, but it is also very attractive in the day light~

Tokyo Skytree looks thicker to me in the day light for some reason~ maybe because of the light up at night?

There are even more people taking pictures during the day!
Sakura

The beautiful pink color of Sakura looks beautiful anytime~

With the pretty blue sky and Skytree, is another great combination 👍🏻

By the way, the two cherry blossom trees are called Kawazu-Zakura (河津桜), which are one of the earliest blossoming cherry blossoms, it starts blossoming around late January to early February; and it is also able to stay blossomed for almost one month!

Since this area is newly redeveloped, it is very pretty even without the Sakura, but it is definitely worth a visit during the Kawazu-Zakura season for a beautiful photo of Tokyo Skytree x Sakura!
